From our Registration Page, just provide us with your full name, email address, birthday, and desired password. If you are part of one of our supported high school,
college, , or work networks, you will be given instructions on how to affiliate yourself. If you are not a member of one of these networks, you can join one of our regional networks after registration.
After you complete the registration form, we will send an email to the address you provided. Clicking on the confirmation link will complete the registration process.
Can I see the profiles of people on other networks?
ZIMFACE was intentionally designed to limit the availability of your profile to only your friends and other people on your networks. This simple but important security measure promotes local networking and makes sure that your information is seen by people you want to share it with, and not by people you don't.
How do I add another network?
ZIMFACE allows you to be a member of up to five different networks. For instance, transfers and grad students can be part of networks at two different schools. Recent college grads can be affiliated with their school and their place of work. You get the idea.
When you join a work or college network, you will need to have a valid email address for your company or college; we authenticate your network affiliation by emailing that address. High school students can only be affiliated with one high school at a time (i.e. the school they currently attend). You may belong to only one regional network.
To add a new network, simply go to the Networks tab of the My Account page. On the right side of the page, type in the name of the network you would like to add and the email address that you are going to use validate your affiliation. Once you complete this process, an email will be sent to the account that you listed. As soon as you click on the link that we send in this email, another network affiliation will be added to your ZIMFACE account. This will allow you to view profiles, join groups, and be found in searches on that network. You can establish different privacy settings for each one of these networks from the My Privacy page.

We didn't forget about you. The confirmation email is probably sitting in your spam or junk folder right now. If you're still having trouble finding it, we can help you out. Please follow these directions carefully:

A network is a group of people with whom you share some sort of connection. The people in any given network could attend the same high school or college, work at the same company, or live in the same region. When you register for ZIMFACE, you have the option to affiliate yourself with one of our networks. After you are on the site, you can add any more networks with which you can prove an affiliation from the 'Networks' tab of the My Account page.
Being a member of a network grants you permission to view most of the profiles on that network and join most of the groups. Remember, individual and group privacy settings may limit your ability to do any of these things. Also, if you are a member of a network, this affiliation will be listed on your profile page and below your name when you are found in search results.
To join a college network, you need to have a valid school email account. If you've already graduated, college alumni email accounts work too. You must be able to access this email address to confirm your affiliation.
To join a High School network, you must be a current high school student. If you have a school email address or an invitation from another member of your high school network, you will be able to affiliate during registration. Alternatively, you can register for the site as an unaffiliated high school user. You will be asked to list your high school's name. Once you are on the site, you will need to be approved by a member of your high school network in order to join it. If you do not successfully affiliate with a high school network within one month, you will no longer be able to use the site.
To join a work network, you need to have a work email address from a supported company. This will put you on a network with your coworkers.
To join a regional network, you simply have to let us know where you live on the Networks tab of the My Account page. Just enter your city, and we'll show you the regional networks closest to you. You cannot change regional networks frequently, so please be sure to pick the right one to join.

If you no longer want to be affiliated with one of your networks, simply go to the 'Networks' tab of the My Account page. From there, click on the 'Leave Network' button to the right of the network that you wish to abandon. Leaving this network means that you will no longer be able to see the profiles of non-friends there. It also means that you will be removed from all groups and events that you have joined and created on that network.
Your primary network is the network you are identified as being a member of when you make friend requests, send messages, write on walls, etc. Also, when you perform searches, results on your primary network will be filtered to the top.
You can change your primary network by going to the 'Networks' tab of the My Account page. Simply click on the 'Make Primary' link to the right of the network that you want to identify yourself with the most.
It is possible to register for ZIMFACE without affiliating yourself with a network. Unaffiliated users will only be able to see the profile of friends.
In order to add a network affiliation, just go to the Networks tab of the My Account page.
Changing high schools? We can move you from one network to another. Just go to the "Networks" tab of the My Account page and identify the school you would like to be moved to. Just so you know, we only allow you to move one time every six months. If you are moving around faster than that, you should probably have a little talk with your parents.
Also, please note that if you move to a school that you do not attend and are reported for doing so, you will be permanently banned from the site.
Please follow these directions:

No. After you graduate you will still have access to ZIMFACE as we are an independent of your school. We STRONGLY recommend that you keep your contact email address current--it's the only way we have to get in touch with you. It's easy to change - just head to the "Settings" tab on the My Account page. Also, if you begin working somewhere that gives you an email address that we support, you can add a work network to your school network. You can add this affiliation from the "Networks" tab of the My Account page.
You can change your login email address from the "Networks" tab on the My Account page. Just edit the "Settings" of the network where your email address has changed.
From this page, you can also add a new network. Once you have confirmed the email address for this network, you can use it to login.
If you want to be able to login with an email address that is not affiliated with a network (e.g. a gmail account), simply add and confirm a "Contact Email" address from the "Settings" tab of the My Account page.
If you like the site and think that your friends will too, you should invite them to register. Just go to the invite screen and list the email addresses of people that you would like to join. These individuals will receive an email with instructions on how to register.
Also, for your convenience, we allow you to import a list of contacts, so that you can invite many people at once. From the invite page, just click on the link to "Look up emails from your Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, Gmail or MSN address book." You will be taken to a secure page that will ask you for the login and password you use for your email program. Once you fill out this information, we will import a list of your contacts that you can choose from when sending out invitations. Please note that ZIMFACE will not store your email login info or password.
You want to leave ZIMFACE? Really? How else are you going to spend your time? Well, if you really want to leave you can deactivate your account from the "My Account" page.
We knew you'd be back. In order to reactivate an account, simply attempt to login with your old login email and password. Once this attempt is made, a message will be sent to your login email address explaining how to get back on the site.
News Feed highlights what's going on in and around your ZIMFACE network by listing the latest stories about your friends on your ZIMFACE home page. You will only be notified of actions that you would have been able to see by clicking around the site. We also display external news articles and the occasional advertisement that might be of interest to you. It's like we started delivering the mail to you instead of forcing you to pick it up on your own.
If I could explain the algorithm, I wouldn't be writing the Help page. Basically, we use information about how you interact with your friends on the site to automatically generate stories that could be interesting or relevant to you.
ZIMFACE allows you to view your News Feed stories by type. Simply click on the icon for a particular type of action to see a list of all recent News Feed stories of that type. For instance, if you click on the Photo icon, we will filter your News Feed so that only Photo stories appear. To return to the standard view, just click on the "back to Homepage" link at the top of the page.
News Feed tells you a lot, but it doesn't tell you everything. You will only see stories about actions that you have permission to see, as determined by the privacy settings of the person who made the action. For example, if your friend creates a "secret" event that you are not invited to, you will not receive a News Feed story about it. Don't worry; it's probably a surprise party for you anyhow.
Of course, the privacy rules work both ways. If you edit your profile, the only people who could possibly receive a News Feed story about this activity are the people who are allowed to view your profile. The Limited Profile rules also apply; if those who see your limited profile can't see your Notes, for example, they will never see your new Note as a News Feed story.
Additionally, ZIMFACE allows you to prevent certain types of stories from being published about yourself. From the My Privacy page, just click on the link for "News Feed and Mini-Feed Privacy." Unchecking one of the story types means that there will be no News Feed or Mini-Feed stories generated about your account for that particular action. For example, if you uncheck the box next to "Write a Wall Post," no one will ever see a News Feed or Mini-Feed story when you post to someone else's wall.
The advertisements that you see in your News Feed are called "Sponsored Stories." You will see at most one Sponsored Story per day, and it will slowly filter to the bottom of your News Feed. We are working hard to make these ads appealing; we seek out advertisers who will offer special discounts, programs, deals, and content to ZIMFACE users. ZIMFACE is committed to maintaining a site that is uncluttered by advertising. Our goal is to only present ads that are useful and non-intrusive, and we are continually working to increase their relevance. Hopefully, some of the Sponsored Stories appeal to you. If you find something offensive, please report it .
You can help ZIMFACE better target the story types that you see in your News Feed. From the top of your News Feed, just click on the "Preferences" link. This will take you to a page with a "slider" for each type of News Feed story. Move the sliders up if you want to see more of a certain type of story, and move them down if the story type does not appeal to you.
If you rank a story type as one you'd like to see more often, we'll try to show you stories of that type, but we won't be able to unless your friends take that action. Also, even if you give something the lowest rank, it won't turn off completely, and you may still see that story type in your News Feed.
ZIMFACE allows you to select which of your friends you'd like to see more News Feed stories about and which friends you'd like to see fewer stories about. Just click on the "Preferences" link at the top of your News Feed. At the bottom of the page, you are allowed to list up to 20 friends you'd like us to "Show You More" and 20 friends you'd like us to "Show You Less." Your friends will not be notified that they have been added to either list.
Of course, these lists depend on what your friends do on ZIMFACE. If your friends aren't doing anything--even if they are on the "Show Me More" list--you won't see stories about them. Send them a ZIMFACE message and ask them to get with the program.
There are a few things to keep in mind as you customize your News Feed settings. First, it will probably take about a day for you to notice a difference. These settings will only affect the new stories coming in.
Second, please note that moving one of the sliders all the way down doesn't mean you'll never see a story about a particular action type. It just means they will be much less frequent. Likewise, moving all the sliders down doesn't mean that News Feed will be turned off.
Finally, just because you move a certain slider all the way up doesn't necessarily guarantee that we'll always have those stories for you. For instance, if you indicate that you want to see a lot of photos stories, but none of your friends are posting any photos or being tagged, you may not see as many photos stories as you'd expect. We can only give you stories if something is actually going on. The same is true of your friends on your "Show Me More" lists; we can't show stories if people aren't doing anything on ZIMFACE.
Already know what your friends' favorite books are? ZIMFACE allows you to collapse and open profile sections as you see fit. If you click on the blue bar above any section on the profile, it will collapse. Just click on the bar again to reopen it.
Just so you know, ZIMFACE will remember these settings for you. If you collapse the Groups section on one profile page, it will remain collapsed on every subsequent profile page you visit until you reopen it. Also, please note that just because you collapsed a section on your own profile does not mean that it will be invisible to the other people who view it.
There are two likely explanations for this. It is possible that you have chosen to collapse this section. This means that the title bar for the section is somewhere on the profile page, but that the text is hidden. If you click on the title bar, the section will reopen and you'll be able to read it again.
The other possibility is that you turned the section off from your My Privacy page. For instance, if you have your Wall privacy set so that it is visible to "no one," then it will not even display when you are viewing your own profile page.
Mini-Feed allows you to quickly and easily see what the people you care about have been up to. When looking at a profile, Mini-Feed will show you the most recent ZIMFACE actions by that user. The stories that are listed are all actions that you would have been able to see by clicking around the site. For instance, if someone adds photos to an album that you are not allowed to see, there will not be a story about this when you look at their Mini-Feed.
So, you want to add Gigli as a favorite movie but you're embarrassed by the Mini-Feed story displayed about it? We don't blame you. You can hide any story from displaying on your Mini-Feed by clicking on the "X" button to the right of the story. If you choose to hide the story, it will be permanently deleted from your Mini-Feed, both for yourself and anyone else looking at your profile.
There are three major privacy restrictions that limit your ability to see Mini-Feed stories. First, if you are not allowed to see an action elsewhere on the site, you will not be able to see it in Mini-Feed. For example, if someone RSVPs to a "secret" event and you weren't invited, you will not be able to see this story on their Mini-Feed.
Secondly, every user has the option to hide a Mini-Feed story. If they hide it on their own profile, it will also be invisible to any other person looking at their Mini-Feed.
Finally, ZIMFACE allows you to prevent certain types of stories from being published about yourself.
When you see stuff highlighted in a profile, this means it was recently added to the profile. You'll see this highlighted view when you click on a profile on your Recently Updated Friends list or when clicking on a story from your News Feed.
People can only see the general fact that you removed some information from your profile, but they can't see what that information was. The only exception to this is that sometimes your friends will see a story in their News Feed when you remove an Interest or Favorite. However, we never display contact information or other personal information that you remove from your profile.
You know that hilarious photo that you wanted to tell your friend about? ZIMFACE allows you to share it from your account. The Share feature allows you to send profiles, photos, photo albums, Notes, News Feed stories, and external content (stuff from other websites) to your ZIMFACE friends. You will be allowed to comment on the material, and your friends can reply with their own feedback. Alternatively, you can share the material with anyone who views your profile by posting the item to your profile. You will be given the option to determine whom you want to share with and whether or not you want to post to your profile after you click on the "Share" link.
ZIMFACE allows you to share profiles, photos, photo albums, Notes, News Feed stories, and external content. An example of external content would be that interesting article, photo, or video that just got posted on your favorite Chuck Norris website.
Next to any piece of ZIMFACE content that you are allowed to share, you will see a "Share" button. If you click on this button, you will have the option to list the names of any friends with whom you would like to share the content. You will be given the option to comment on the item and your friends will have the option to comment back. When you're done listing friends and commenting, click on the "Share" button. Your friends will find the item on their "My Shares" pages the next time they log in.
When sharing content, you also have the option to post it to your profile. After you click on the Share button, just check the box to "Post on your profile." Selecting this option will post the content and any comments you have made to the "Posted Items" box of your profile. This content will be visible to anyone who views your profile, provided that what you shared was not ZIMFACE content they could not normally see due to privacy settings.
If you find interesting content from other websites, ZIMFACE allows you to share it with friends by sending it to them directly or by posting it to your profile. From the My Shares page, simply enter the url of the website that you would like to share underneath the "Share a Link" header. After you submit this url, ZIMFACE will scan the website for interesting material and produce a preview. This preview shows you what your friends will see when they view the item. All recipients will be able to click through to see the full content. If you click on the "Edit preview" button, you will be given the option to modify the preview as you see fit.
You can send this item out to any of your friends by checking the box to "Send to specific friends" and typing their names into the "Send this item to" field. You can also post the item to your profile by checking the "Post on your profile" box.
As another option, ZIMFACE provides a tool that allows you to share content while you are viewing other sites. On the My Shares page, we provide you with a "bookmarklet" that you can drag into your browsers bookmarks bar or folder. If you click on this bookmarklet while viewing any external webpage, a ZIMFACE pop-up will appear that allows you to share the material with your friends and/or post it to your profile.
After you click on the Share button, just select the option to "Post on your profile." Selecting this option will post the content and any comments you have made to the "Posted Items" box of your profile. This content will be visible to anyone who views your profile.
Shared items abide by the same privacy settings that exist elsewhere on the site. For instance, if someone is not allowed to see your photo album, they will still not be allowed to see it if someone tries to share it with them. When they try to click on the item that they received, they will be notified that ZIMFACE privacy settings prevent them from seeing the content.
ZIMFACE Search allows you to search for anything on the site, including people at other schools. When you are on the search page, just type in the individual's name. You can also specify which network you want to search. Select "Other Network," then begin typing the name of the network, and we'll give you possible matches.
You can also use the special Classmates Search and Coworkers Search to find people you know from school or work. Classmates Search allows you to search for people that attended a specific high school or college. You can search a specific school, or specify a class year to narrow down your results. Coworkers Search lets you search for people based on what companies they worked at according to their profiles.
ZIMFACE Search allows you to search for anything on the site. This includes names, groups, events, interests, gender, relationship status, etc. You get the idea. Just type in the names and words you want to search - either alone or in combination (e.g., "John swimming single"). Once you get your results, you can further limit what is displayed. Just use the filters available on the right side of the page to target your results.
You can also use Advanced Search to search specific profile fields.
You can also search for people based on where they go or went to school using the Classmates Search, and you can find people based on where they work(ed) using the Coworkers Search. Classmates Search allows you to search for people that attended a specific high school or college. You can search an entire school, or specify a class year to narrow down your results. Coworkers Search lets you search for people based on what companies they worked at according to their profiles.
Too lazy to search through 5,000 results? We are too. After you perform a search, make sure to utilize the "result filters" that we have made available. At the top of the results page, you can choose to sort out "Names," "Groups," "Events," or "Profiles." To further narrow down what is displayed, use the filters on the right side of the page.
ZIMFACE only allows people to view the profiles of their friends and the other people on their networks. This is a simple but important security measure and a means of promoting local networking.
First, make sure that your My Privacy page settings allow you to be found in searches. Click on the "Edit Settings" link in the "Search" section of the My Privacy page, and make sure that you have made yourself visible to everyone that you want.
To show up in Classmates Search, you need to indicate what high school and/or college you attended in the Education Info section of your profile. To show up in Coworkers Search, you need to enter all of the places you have worked in the Work Info section of your profile.
You can adjust your Search privacy options by clicking on "Edit Settings" in the Search section of the My Privacy page. From this page, you can restrict who can find you in many different ways. The default option is for everyone on ZIMFACE to be able to find you in searches. Please note that being able to find you in searches does not necessarily mean that people can see your profile. Only your friends and the people in your networks can actually see your full profile.
If you choose "Restricted" search privacy, you can limit who is allowed to find you in searches. Within each of your networks, you can allow everyone, friends of friends, or just friends to find you in searches. For people who are outside of your networks, you can specify the "types" of people you want to be able find you. For example, you can allow users who are part of college networks to find you, but not allow people on regional networks.
From the Search privacy page, you can also establish what people can see about you and do to you when they find you in searches. At the bottom of the page, you will see a section called "What Can People Do With My Search Results." From this section, you can make it so that your profile picture does not appear in your search results. You can also prevent the people who find you in searches from poking you, messaging you, or adding you as a friend. These settings only apply to people who are not permitted to see your profile (i.e. people who are not your friends or on any of your networks). Please note that unchecking all of these boxes does not hide you from searches; it just prevents people from taking any action upon the search result.
The person that you searched for has probably adjusted his or her search privacy to prevent these actions from being available. From the Search section of the My Privacy page, all users can adjust what people can do with their search results. These options allow them to prevent people who cannot see their profile from messaging them, poking them, or requesting them as a friend.
The other person might have a privacy option that limits your ability to find them in a search.
The other person has to be on ZIMFACE. It's hard to believe, but a few people don't use this site.
Make sure to utilize the search filters. If your search is bringing up too many results, use the filters on the right side of the results page. This will allow you to better target results. You can also try the Advanced Search page.
To help us address your question please tell us more here.
Browse allows you to quickly and easily look through the people on your networks. By using the filters on the right side, you can find people that match a certain set of characteristics. The option to browse is available at the top of every page.
If you want to search a particular profile field, please take advantage of our Advanced Search. This feature allows you to perform a search based on any combination of profile information.
You can invite anyone that you can see on the site to be your friend. Just use the "ZIMFACE Search" to find people you know and then click on the "Add to Friends" button on the right side of the screen. A friend request will be sent to that person. Once they confirm that they actually are friends with you, they will show up on your Friends List.
Don't let this friendship opportunity slip away, just send the other person a friend request from your account. Alternatively, you could ask them to invite you again.
Have a story to tell everyone? You can list the ways you know your ZIMFACE friends on the My Friends page. Simply click on the link below their name that says "How do you know...?" and check the boxes that apply. Most scenarios will ask optional follow-up questions.
When you are finished filling out the connections, click the "Request Confirmation" button. Your friend will be prompted to confirm or edit this Friend Detail the next time they login. You can also fill out Friend Details when you accept friend requests.
The gray ones have been listed by one person but have not yet been confirmed by the other individual. Black ones have been agreed upon by both friends.
When you log in to ZIMFACE, you will be notified of any pending Friend Details. If you agree with what your friend has listed, just click on the "Confirm" button.
Does your friend have the story wrong? Did your exclaim "we get along great" despite the fact that your last interacation was two years ago? You can revise the connection that they listed by clicking on the "Edit Details" button. Change the story to reflect how you remember it, and then click "Request Confirmation". Your friend will be asked to confirm or edit this revision when they next login. If you decide later that you want to edit the Friend Detail again, you can always do so from the My Friends page.
If you don't want to have any Friend Details listed, simply click "Edit Details" and uncheck all the boxes. You can edit or remove any Detail at any time from the My Friends page.
If a Friend Detail has not been confirmed, it will only display on the Friend List of the person who first listed it. Once it is confirmed, it will be displayed on both people's Friend lists. Your Friend Details are visible to everyone who is allowed to see your Friend List.
You can access the Friend Game from the My Friends page. Simply go to the My Friends page and select the "Friend Game" tab. You must have at least ten friends to play.
Status helps you keep your friends up to date on where you are and what you're doing. Set your own status and check up on your friends. You can also see when people are "online now" (ie logged into ZIMFACE website).
You can see the most recent Status of your friends by selecting "Recently Updated" from the drop down list on the My Friends page. You can also get to this page by clicking on the "recently updated friends" link on the homepage. In addition, a person's Status is displayed in the status box on his or her profile.
Your status box will remain invisible to others, unless you are currently online or have ZIMFACE Mobile. In this case, your status box will show either the online now or phone icon.
Social Timeline breaks down the different ways you have interacted with your friends over the course of your life. All the information displayed comes from the Friend Details you have listed. To add more Details, simply go to the My Friends page and click on the link for "How do you know..."
Do you really need to see these people seven times? To save space on the Social Timeline, we only show your friends' photos for the year when you first listed a Friend Detail.
Your Wall is a forum for your friends to post comments or insights about you. You can always remove comments you don't like from your own Wall. You can restrict who your Wall is visible to, or turn it off entirely, by clicking on "Edit Settings" under your network's name on the My Privacy page.
By default, your Wall is visible to anyone who can see your profile. You can restrict who your Wall is visible to, or turn it off entirely, by clicking on "Edit Settings" under each network's name on the My Privacy page.
While viewing any of your friends' profiles, you can make a post by clicking on the "write something" button at the top of the Wall.
Type in the text of your message and click on "post." Your friend will be notified that someone has edited their Wall. If you decide that you don't like what you wrote, you can remove your post by clicking on the "delete" button underneath the entry.
Tired of looking like a giant blue question mark? Here's how to upload a profile picture:
Log in, click on Edit Profile, then select the "Picture" tab.
"Browse" your computer's files to find the appropriate picture.
Select the photo to upload, check the box certifying that you have the right to distribute the picture and that it is not pornography, and click on "upload picture." If the picture is an acceptable size and file type, it will display.
Provide an album name, description and privacy level, and click "Create Album."
You will be prompted to install a small application that allows easy uploading of your photos. Please click "Yes" to any prompts that appear while the application is uploading. If you are having any trouble installing or using the photo upload application, try the simple version located at the bottom of the "Add More Photos" page.
When viewing an album, click on the "Add More Photos" tab. This will take you to a java app that allows you to search your computer's files. Just check the boxes for the thumbnails of the photos that you want uploaded. While scrolling over the photos, you also have the option of rotating them prior to upload. Once you have chosen all the photos and aligned them as you wish, click on the "upload" button. You will be taken to the "Edit Photos" page where you have the option of entering captions and "tagging" the people in your photos. You can only upload 60 photos for each album.
If you are having any trouble with the fancy photo upload, you can try a simpler version that is similar to the upload for profile pictures. This option is available at the bottom of the "Add More Photos" page.
Take a short break and try again in a few minutes. It is possible that you tried to upload at a time when your connection to the site was a little slow.
Check to make sure that you are uploading a supported file type. If you are not uploading a .gif, .jpg., or .png file, you probably are going to have problems.
Give the simple uploader a try. There is a link to it at the bottom of the "add photos" page. It works a little slower, but it is sometimes more effective.
If none of this helps, please send an email to
from your login email address. To help solve your problem, we will need to know your name, login email address, and school. Also, please attach the photo you attempted to upload. Finally, provide any additional information such as error messages and a description of the problem you are experiencing.
If you decide that your collection of quail photos isn't something that you want up on the site, you can always delete them. You can remove a photo while viewing it by clicking on the "delete" button (right below the photo). You can also delete photos from the "Edit Photos" page. The delete option is underneath every thumbnail.
If you want to delete an entire album, you can do so by clicking "edit photos" when viewing the album and selecting "delete album".
Upload as many photos as you want, even your entire quail collection. We only allow you to put 60 photos in an album, but you can upload as many albums as you want.
On the "Edit Photos" page, you have the option of entering captions next to each photo and "tagging" the people in your photos. To tag a photo, simply click on a person's face in the photo, and then select their name in the box that pops up. If their name is not already in the box, you can provide it. Repeat this process for everyone in the photo. If you need to tag yourself, select "me."
A note about tagging: When you tag a friend in a photo, that photo will appear in their profile. If they don't want the photo in their profile, they can simply click "remove" next to their name.
Click the "done" button at the bottom of the page once you're done with your captions and tagging.
You know, if the person doesn't use ZIMFACE, you probably shouldn't be taking pictures of them. Just kidding, you can tag whomever you want. While tagging your photos, if you type in the name of someone who is not on your Friend List, you have the option of listing their email address. When you are done tagging, they will receive an email that provides a link to the image. They will be allowed to see the photos in which they are tagged, but nothing else on the site unless they register.
No, but you can suggest tags for them. To do this, click on the "Tag This Photo" link when you are browsing someone else's album. To tag the photo, simply click on a person's face in the photo, and then select their name in the box that pops up. If their name is not already in the box, you can provide it. Repeat this process for everyone in the photo. If you need to tag yourself, select "me." Click the "done" button at the right of the page once you're done entering your tags.
When you tag another person's photos, no one will be able to see that tag until the tag is confirmed by the person who uploaded the photo.
You can change who's allowed to see your photos at anytime. There are three privacy settings that you can choose for each album:
Everyone: your friends and people on your networks can see photos in this album. Additionally, if you tag anyone in this album, the friends of the people you tag will be able to see the photos in which their friends are tagged regardless of which network they are on.
My Networks and Friends: anyone on your networks AND anyone you're friends with can view this album.
My Friends: only your friends can see this album.
These options are specific to each album, so different levels of privacy can be selected for different types of photos. They can be changed from the My Privacy page under the "Photos" section or by clicking on "Edit Album Info" while editing the photos.
You also have the option of turning off specific albums for users that see your Limited Profile (see Privacy Help for more information on this feature).
You can remove specific albums from your Limited Profile either by changing your My Privacy settings for photos or by clicking on "Edit Limited Profile" near the bottom of the My Privacy page.
Just because people can see your photos does not mean that they can view your profile. This is a separate privacy setting found on the My Privacy page.
You have friends that don't use ZIMFACE? Weird. ZIMFACE provides public links that allow you to show anyone your albums. When you are viewing your album, simply go to the very bottom on the page, where there is a "public link." Sending this link to friends or posting it on a website will allow everyone who clicks on it to view that album. Remember, this link will always work, even if you add photos or change your album privacy settings. Also, put your friends out of their misery and invite them to join ZIMFACE.
Simply view the photo and click the "remove tag" link next to your name. It will no longer be linked to your profile.
Remember that you can only tag your friends. If you are having problems with someone constantly tagging you in embarrassing photos, just remove them as a friend (from the "My Friends" page).
If you don't want the photo to be shown at all, please talk to the person who posted it. They should be respectful enough to remove unwanted photos. Unfortunately, ZIMFACE CANNOT make people remove photos that do not violate our terms of service.
Upload your photos in the order that you want them displayed. So the first photo you upload will be seen first, the second one, second, and so on.
The album with the most recently added photo is displayed first. To change the order of albums, upload a new photo to the album you want first. You don't have to keep the photo you can delete it and you'll still see that album first.
You can anonymously "report" any photo that you feel is offensive (a link is provided underneath the image). ZIMFACE will monitor these complaints and remove photos as necessary.
ZIMFACE has partnered with QOOP to provide photo printing services to ZIMFACE users. Go to the Photo Printshop to create prints, posters, minibooks, photobooks, calendars, or cards with ZIMFACE photos. You can print your own photos and/or the photos of your friends that have set their privacy options to allow this. To select the images that you want to print, click on "Add to Printshop" below the photo or album. Clicking this link will add the photo(s) to your Printshop. When you are ready to print these photos, just go back to your My Photos page and click on the button to "Go to Printshop."
Come on, share the wealth. If you want to allow your friends to print your photos, just go to the My Photos page and click the button"Go to Printshop." Here you can edit your "Printshop Settings." Granting your friends permission to print your photos allows all of your friends list to print your photos. Note: Your friends can only print the photos that they have permission to see.
At the bottom of the My Photos page, you will see previews of the Printshop Items that your friends have created and shared with their friends. You can purchase any of these photo prints, posters, minibooks, photobooks, calendars, and cards. If you click on the thumbnail of the item, you will be taken to a page that allows you to purchase it.
When your friends created these Items, they had the option to allow their friends to purchase them. If the Items are visible to you on your My Photos page, you are allowed to purchase them. Just click on the thumbnail of the item you want, and you will be taken to a page with ordering instructions.
After you order any Item, you will have the option to decide whether or not your friends will be allowed to purchase the Item as well. If you grant them this permission, your friends will be able to see the Item at the bottom of their My Photos pages. Keep in mind that when you grant this permission, all of your friends can see this item, even if they were unable to see the original photo or album. If you would like to change this privacy setting at any time, just go back to your Printshop (linked to at the top of the My Photos page). On the right side of your Printshop, you will see the option to "Edit Purchase Settings" for any of the Items that you have previously ordered.
Please note that you cannot grant your friends permission to purchase the Item if it contains other people's photos.
ZIMFACE has partnered with QOOP to provide people with the option to purchase these prints. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order, QOOP would be more than happy to help you out. You can contact their customer care team at service@qoop.com. Please do not contact ZIMFACE with questions regarding your print order.
Notes allow you to describe what's going on in your life through written posts. You can upload photos to your notes and tag any friends that you mention in a note just as you would tag a photo.
When you are writing or editing a note, there will be an option on the right side of the page to "Tag people in this note". Just begin typing one of your friends' names in the box, and then select that person's name to tag them. We will also suggest possible matches based on a quick scan of the text. If you want to tag yourself in the note, simply type your name or "Me".
Would your description of your Chuck Norris Halloween costume make more sense if you included photographic evidence? ZIMFACE gives you the option to include images in your note. When you are writing or editing a note, you will see an option to "Upload a photo" below the body of the note. Use the "Browse" button to find the image you want from your computer.
Once the image is uploaded, you will be given the option to write a caption. The photo will then be assigned an identifier (for example, <Quail 1>). Move this identifier to the place in the text where you would like the image to appear. Next to the photo thumbnail, you will have the option to determine how you want the image aligned on the page (centered, right side of the page, etc.). You can also specify a caption for the image. When you are all done uploading and aligning the photos, don't forget to "Publish" the note or "Save" your edits.
Been blogging since grade school? Don't worry, you don't have to spend hours copying and pasting them into Notes. ZIMFACE allows you to quickly and easily import an external blog from another website.
On the My Notes page, select the "Import a blog" link on the right side of the page. Enter the URL of your blog into the text box, and check the box underneath that states that you agree to our Terms of Use. To complete the process, click on "Save Settings". Once you do this, your past posts will be in Notes and any new posts you make will automatically display.
Are people making fun of your spelling? Ending sentences with prepositions again? To edit a note, simply click on the "Edit note" link just below the note's title. You may then modify the note in any way you wish. When you are done with your edits, don't forget to "Save" the changes.
Want to know what your friends are saying about you? You can view all notes in which you've been tagged by selecting the "Notes About Me" option on the right side of the My Notes page.
From the Notes About Me page, click on the title of the note you don't like. On the right side of the page, under "In this note", you will see your profile photo and name. Simply click "remove tag" under your name. The note will no longer lead to your profile.
If you want to weigh in on the discussion, you can add a comment by clicking on the title of a note and scrolling down to the bottom of the page. When you are done, make sure to "Add your comment". In some cases, the person who posted the note may have privacy settings in place that prevent others from making a comment.
The default privacy setting for Notes is that everyone on ZIMFACE can see your notes. If you would like to change this go to the My Privacy page and click on the "Everyone" link under "Networks." Scroll down until you see the "Notes" section. There you can limit who can see your notes in each of your networks. For each network, you can choose everyone, friends of your friends, or only your friends. You can also choose to turn off Notes in your Limited Profile.
Looking for something to do? You can look for events using the search page. Just type in the name of the event you are looking for and specify that you are searching for "Events." As another option, you can always "browse" events from the My Events page.
From the Invite page, simply begin typing the name of the person you wish to invite in the box in the upper right. ZIMFACE will suggest possible matches from your Friend List. If the individual isn't a ZIMFACE friend of yours, just hit the "Search" button when you are done typing the name and we will provide you a list of people with that name. Alternatively, you can invite your friends quickly by scrolling down the Friend List provided and checking the boxes next to the names of the people you want to come. When you are done adding names to this list, make sure to click the "Send Invitation Emails" button to complete the process.
Event Administrators can invite more people or edit the guest list at any time from the My Events page.
Sure, we'll do anything to help you throw a better party. While on the Guest List tab of the "Edit Event" page, you will see a box to "Invite People who are not on ZIMFACE via Email." Just list your friends' email addresses (separated by commas) and we will send them an invite. By receiving this invite, they will be given access to view the Event information. They will be able to RSVP there as well. However, they will not be able to see any other ZIMFACE pages unless they register.
Open: Anyone can add themselves to the guest list without approval. They can see the event information, Wall, and photos.
Closed: People need to be invited to be on the guest list. Everyone can see the event info, however, and request that the admin send them an invite. Only those people who have received an invite can see the event Wall and photos. People who are not invited will not see News Feed stories about Closed Events.
Secret: The event can not be found in searches. These events are invitation only. People who have not been invited cannot view the event info, Wall, or photos. They also will not see any News Feed stories about the event.
An event is deleted once all of the admins remove the event from their My Events lists. This can be done on the Event Profile itself or on the My Events page.
Alternatively, an admin has the option to cancel an event. A "Cancel This Event" link can be found on the Event page. If you cancel the event, an email will be sent out to everyone who was invited. You have the option of writing a personal note that explains why you are canceling.
Lost? Maps show up if the event creator submitted a street and city. Additionally, if you have a current address and city in your profile, directions appear.
When you are invited to an event, a notification will be posted on your Home page and you will also receive a notification email. To respond to the invitation, simply follow the link in either notification and decide whether you are "attending," "may be attending," or "not attending."
Sorry, but the name of an event cannot be changed after it is created. If you have decided, in hindsight, that Lisapalooza was a lame name for your birthday party, you can always apologize to guests using the event Wall.
Want to post some photos to entice people to come to your event? Better yet, do you want to post some photos that will allow guests to remember what actually happened? Event administrators can select if they want to allow photos to be posted on the "Edit Event" page. If photos are turned on, the admins have the choice to allow either all event invitees or only other admins to post.
If you are allowed to add photos, you can make your contribution by selecting "Add Photos" from the main page of the event. You can select up to five photos to add at a time. If this is an "Open" event, the photos will be visible to everyone who views it. The photos posted on "Closed" and "Secret" events are only visible to other people who were invited. Please remember that admins have the ability to remove photos that they do not want to be associated with their event.
You can join any "open" group on your networks. Also, you can join any "global" group that is open. These groups can be found using the search page. Just type in a keyword for the group you want to find and specify that you are looking for "Groups." Alternatively, you can browse by category from the My Groups page. When you find the group you are looking for, click on the "join group" link on the right side of the screen.
Some groups require administrative approval for you to join. If you try to join these groups, you will have to wait for an admin to let you in.
Finally, there are some groups on ZIMFACE that are invitation only. You cannot request to join these. Only an invitation from a group admin will give you access.
